Surface Engineering (SE) Limited was founded in 1996 as a joint venture between the University of Malta and Tecvac in Cambridge UK. SE Ltd. serves as the commercial arm of the Department of Materials and Metallurgy at the University of Malta.
Since its founding, the company and the University have made substantial investment and purchased a wide range of equipment for bulk heat treatment, surface engineering as well as materials testing and characterization. All the equipment was purchased with the intent of satisfying local industrial requirements as well as teaching and R&D activities carried out within the University.
Customers from industry, students and researchers benefit respectively from the accumulated expertise within the department various within the University and the industrial environment created.
